Campus Contern and the 'CO2 neutral' label
Campus Contern has become the first office complex in Luxembourg to obtain a 'CO2 neutral' label.
The Campus, which hosts large companies, SMEs, and startups, consists of 5 buildings. It uses 100% green electricity for heating, air conditioning, and lighting, and has made it a priority to do its utmost to reduce its carbon footprint.
Under the slogan ‘Feel good at work,’ Campus Contern already hosts 33 Luxembourgish and international companies. They can customize their space according to their wishes and requirements and enjoy a 100% natural environment, free from allergens and chemical pollution. The use of a natural solution purifies the air 24 hours a day in all buildings.
Employees of these companies have access to the Campus Contern autonomous electric shuttle, the Campus Contern carpooling system, 118 electric vehicle charging stations, easy waste sorting, and a packaging reduction system.
At lunchtime, they can relax on the comfortable terrace, walk in the nearby forest, or use the fitness room. Since Campus Contern cares for biodiversity, it has also installed beehives on the roof of one of the buildings. According to employees of the hosted companies, ‘Campus Contern is a great place to work, adopting a circular economy, environmentally friendly, and modern.’
All tenants can benefit from Campus Contern’s environmental certifications. In addition to the ‘CO2 neutral’ label, it also holds the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) label and the ‘BREEAM excellent in use’ certificate.
The ‘CO2 neutral’ label was developed by the consulting firm CO2logic and Vinçotte – an independent international certification authority, based on the internationally recognized PAS2060 standard.
In contrast to ‘greenwashing,’ this label can only be obtained through serious climate efforts.
Since 2007, it has ensured that certified organizations actively calculate, reduce, and offset their local and global climate impact.
