At the beginning of the year, we developed a mobility plan:
a simple questionnaire to understand the commuting habits of people working at Campus Contern. With 34 different companies and approximately 450 people, synergies were bound to emerge… and they did!
Carpooling is a promising alternative for people working in our office complex, with commuters coming from Luxembourg, France, and Germany. Some postal codes are shared by more than 5 people, meaning true “neighbors”!
To facilitate communication and connections, we have therefore launched 3 WhatsApp groups, one for each country.
“The goal is to facilitate communication: almost everyone uses WhatsApp and knows how groups work; it’s familiar, making it easier and more intuitive,” explains Virginie Ducommun, Marketing & RSE.
“Of course, we also strongly encourage carpool teams to register on Klaxit and validate their trips to be compensated. The main advantage is knowing that you’re not creating a profile for nothing and avoiding spending time searching for a compatible trip. Win-Win!”
Three major advantages to carpooling… and an extra bonus when you’re at Campus Contern!
#1 Financial Savings and Reduced Commuting Costs
A significant financial bonus: share to achieve significant savings and improve purchasing power.
#2 Reduced Stress and Strengthened Social Bonds
Sharing fosters better cohesion within the multi-company community. By avoiding the hassles of daily driving, carpooling helps reduce stress and promote a better quality of life both at work and outside of it.
#3 Reduced Ecological Footprint and Improved Air Quality
By choosing carpooling, people working on-site make a direct contribution to environmental protection. By reducing the number of cars on the road, carpooling helps decrease greenhouse gas emissions and preserve air quality.
#4 THE Bonus:
At Campus Contern, employees have access to a shared car, so they can remain mobile for unforeseen events or emergencies.
An unexpected appointment? A colleague’s car broken down? A sick child? Just take the car and it’s sorted, even the first time: download the app, create your account in 5 minutes, book, and go.
In summary, carpooling represents a major opportunity for people working on-site, offering economic, social, and environmental benefits.
Even participating in just one or two trips per month can already make a significant difference. By opting for carpooling, we are taking a step in the right direction for a more sustainable and harmonious future.
