This is the number of liters of water we saved from pollution with Mégo!, the cigarette butt recycling program on our campus.
6.86 kg or approximately 24,700 cigarette butts collected: that’s 1.5 kg more than the first time.

When we signed up for the Mégo! contract last year, we were the first in Luxembourg to embark on this adventure. Of course, it was easy as our tenant SHIME is the program’s custodian throughout the country.
They presented us with the idea: transform cigarette butts into urban furniture and, above all, prevent the pollution of thousands of liters of water. We immediately approved the idea because it was a simple way to engage everyone on site to do something concrete to protect our resources… without doing anything truly different 🙂
All we had to do was replace our existing ashtrays with new ones, prettier and better suited, and that was it. Everyone on site contributed, and we are delighted with the result.
As a bonus, a real advantage: the cigarette butts that previously might have ended up in the flowerbeds or on the forecourt are much fewer, which clearly demonstrates the commitment of smokers on site (and incidentally helps reduce exterior cleaning frequencies and thus costs for everyone).
We are therefore delighted and very proud of these results: CONGRATULATIONS to everyone and THANK YOU for your participation in the program.
